Information provided by you

  • When you sign up for updates. If you sign up on our website to receive updates, you will provide us with your email address.
  • When you contact us. If you contact us via email, or by other means, you may provide us with Personal Information, such as your name and contact details (including email address), and the content, date and time of our communications.

Information provided by third parties

  • When we conduct research. We may obtain Personal Information about you from third parties. In particular, we are using data from the UK Biobank, which includes:
  • Protein level measurements;
  • Other blood-based measurements;
  • Treatment history;
  • Genetic information (including polygenic risk scores).

How We Use Your Personal Information

We will use your information for the following research purposes:

  • Conducting research. We may use your Personal Information to carry out research, such as studying chronic autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis (“RA”). In particular, we may carry out research to:
  • Discover biomarkers that can identify RA patients who are most likely to respond to our treatments;
  • Develop a clinical-grade assay (a test) that can measure these biomarkers;
  • Predict how patients will respond to our treatments based on their genetic risk.
  • Communicating with you. If you have provided us with your contact details through our website, we may use these details to contact you with updates, or to respond to any queries you submit to us.
  • Legal. We may use your Personal Information to enforce this Notice, to defend our legal rights and comply with our legal obligations and internal policies.  

Where We Process Your Personal Information

All processing of UK Biobank data will be conducted within the UK Biobank Research Analysis Platform (UKB-RAP). No data will be transferred outside of this secure environment.

Who We Share Your Personal Information With

  • Service providers. We work with third party service providers, such as Brevo, to operate our services, including for email marketing. These third parties may have access to or process your Personal Information as part of providing those services to us.
  • Legal. We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable laws, in response to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies.
  • Merger. We may disclose or otherwise transfer Personal Information to an acquirer, successor or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.
  • Consent. We may also disclose your Personal Information with your permission.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

We have implemented reasonable security measures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, because no electronic transmission or storage of information can be entirely secure, we can make no guarantees as to the security or privacy of your Personal Information, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We take measures to delete your Personal Information or keep it in a form that does not permit identifying you when this information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which we process it, unless we need to retain certain information as required by law, or for as long as is reasonably necessary to meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse or enforce our terms and conditions.
